18" Style 189 work with a 335i? Maybe staggered?

Presently have 17"s and am thinking about going to 18" 5 spoke 189's with a 225/40-18's all around.
Could I stagger if I wanted to or would that void warranty?

189 wheels are 18"X8 (Fronts) and 18"X8.5 (Rears)

You should probably stagger them stock uses 225 F and 255 R but you technically can run 245s on all 4 corners if you want but you still can't rotate them 8.5's to the front so why bother.

Just stagger the tire sizes. Recommend 235/265

Thanks for the quick reply because I'm about to order the wheels and some Conti 18" SSR runflats from Tire Rack..
Can I just buy 4 18X8 style 189 wheels?
I'll probably just do 225/40-18's all around.This way I can rotate.
The 189 wheels should fit I would think.

It depends what you want to do with the car. Technically speaking, in a hands of a skillful driver a 225 all around setup is better. It will result in a much more balanced car in corners but will induce overstreer so it will be easier to get in trouble with it.

In terms of warranty I highly doubt they will have major objections to any tire choise..

I play a little but think the same size tire all around will work for me.
Unfortunately,i just found out that Continental makes a 18" ContiProContact SSR RF tire but doesn't import the tire here.

Seems 18" RF are summer tires and won't work for me.I don't want to go with regular tires and have to buy a 5th tire and jack kit.
Maybe I'll just gut a set of Style 284 wheels and keep the 17"s.

Either setup will work fine, you're talking OEM rims here. That makes everything much easier. My car had 17" 225s all around stock, but my summer setup (style 162, pictured below) is 18" and staggered 255/225.

Since you're in NJ, just put the stock wheels and tires back on for the winter and get summer tires. If you do end up moving away from RFTs, the Michelin PS2 is a great tire.

Y not just buy from our classifieds section. 189s with tires are always for sale there..

jopa,I really don't want to do a changeover.
The 335i doesn't see rain now and definitely won't see snow.
Summer tires lose traction,braking and wear fast in cold weather so I won't buy them.
If I go with 18" rims,'ll probably buy a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus which are not run flats and the BMW spare kit..

Unless you're really tight with your dealer, I'd expect takeoffs with mystery rubber would be cheaper than new alloys.

Takes offs are great if seller is close.
I don't want another set of Run flats.I may dump the ones I have for a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus.

I'm leaning toward style 287 but do like the 193 M wheels but they're pricey.

have you made a buy? if so what direction did you go?
I have 189's on my e90 with 225 Front and 255 Rear.
They are runflat Bridgestones and I NEED to dump 'em.
Was thinking of going 245 all around, but not sure what brand of non-runflat tire.
