Need Help!! Does anyone know what this is??

Hello,

I took my car for the famous tickling noise, they changed cylinder head gasket. After inspecting under the hood I see this part without a connector, does anyone know if this is how its suppose to be??

Also I am noticing this part without anything screwed into (its the shiny opening), is this also normal? Its located near the oil filter.

BTW I have a E90 325i.

Thanks!!

The connector is for the hood switch for the alarm system.

Connector for the alarm hood switch. Now that you found it, you should install one

Hmm, but that's just the hood switch connector, doesn't mean they disconnected your alarm just that there's no sensor hooked up in case your hood gets lifted...

looks like your switch is gone too... the screw hole appears to be threaded so that means a screw (with an assumption of a switch) was once installed.
