simple question for you BMW lovers!
I would like to buy a 2007 x3 within the next year and my girlfriend asked me if this SUV have a kind of mechanism that prevents the truck to go backward if eg: we are waiting on a red light and prepare to engage in the first gear (with the clutch pedal activated and brake pedal depressed). Some cars have this feature...
Someone know what I mean? Sorry for my bad English and THANKS for your help! A future X3 owner |

Yes. All manual tranny BMW's have Start-Off Assistance as far as I know.
Dynamic Stability Control, including Brake Drying, Brake Stand-by, Start-off Assistance and Brake Fade Compensation are standard in BMW's line of outstanding features. FYI, it works moving up on a hill from a stop, or reversing while on a downhill slope.

Great thanks a lot for the anwser. My girlfriend will love this feature, cause she's willing to learn driving a manual car but not without this!
BTW, does the handling on the X6 is great? I would prefer this one, but I can't afford it for now. |

X3/X5 are more truck like but still handle quite well compared to the competition.
