Trouble with JB3 software
I'm trying to update the chip via chip burner and I keep getting this msg when I try to program it.. "the programmer does not recognize Processor 18f42431" .. and then when I hit continue it gives me
ROM=Erased EEPROM = Erased ID=Erased Fuse=Not Erased Then it asks me if I want to continue to erase and program the chip.. I clicked yes and it gives me this... ROM error at 0x0000 Good 0xEF36 Bad 0xFFFF .... wtf? I tried contacting Terry but... his response wasn't helpful at all. |

ok found the problem.
The chip was inserted the wrong way. If anyone has this problem, flip the chip 180 degrees and try it again. Make sure it is inserted away from the LED lights, meaning first port should be "1". It has the slots numbered on the left side from 1 to 20. |

Hey, are you doing anything today? Maybe we can try installing it one more time.

Make sure that the notched end of the chip faces the little lever on the board. Use a short USB cable if you have one. Make sure that you select '18F2431' under the Chip Selector dropdown list.
If you still have probs - send me a PM, it's most likey COMport issues. |

I don't know if I'll be able to make it all the way up North today.. Maybe this weekend? Not sure.. I'm gonna try installing it one more time to make sure it wasn't a loose pin or something.
