E93 owners - any leaks? Very curious
Hi folks-
My Vert is on order. I wont see it until mid July. I'm curious about any leaks from rain storms and typical car washes. I assume it's fairly tight, it is a BMW, but the last convertible wasn't exactly water tight. Very curious about experiences you may have had with the hardtop/droptop. Thanks AS

I have not personally had any leaks from outside water. But I know some others have. Oh, and I wash my car by hand without pressure sprayers. So I shouldn't get leaks from washing the car anyway.
And since I live in SoCal, I shouldn't get leaks from rain ... since we have none. |

2009 E93. No leaks and I have been thru hard rains and car washes. It is still tight as a drum.

2007 E93 335i roof leak
2007 E93 335i - purchased in Nov 07 (16k miles on the odometer). Car is at the dealer right now because of a roof leak on the driver's side, near the rear window - close to the c-pillar.
Water droplets would fall on the interior trim during car washing (I use the 'shower' setting on the water nozzle, so this wasn't any high water pressure situation). The leak was small, but enough to cause me to worry. It's been at the dealer for 4 days so far. Apparently the seals between the 2and and 3rd panel had a crack. The seals are applied through some complicated heat setting process. I was told that the roof needed to be re-adjusted (I don't know if the reason for the re-adjustment was because the process implies the removal of the panel to apply the heat. I will ask when I pick it up). I am anxious to have the car back. Once the roof is disassembled, I fear it will never be the same.... |

The E93 hard top convertible is very new to BMW and it is working well so far. However, we never know what is going to happen when the odometer says 100k miles.

no leaks at all. I use a powerwash. As an experiment, I tried to point it at the edges people often complained about leaks.... and NADA... no leak

I will get slight a drop coming down driver's and passenger's windows at the joints if I focus alot of water at that area when I wash the car. Otherwise, it's been fine. Some people would say even that would be unacceptable. However, I am fearful that taking it to that dealer for them to "fix it" may end up with a worse leak. I'm not anal enough to worry about it.

Super psyched about this car. I'm a huge BMW fan. This will be my 4th 3 series. My first car was a BMW 1600 a 1971 model with 180K miles. An earlier and cheaper version of the famous 2002 that spawned the 3 series. AS
