It's official...I'm on my county's "Most Wanted" list.
If this keeps up I'm gonna end up on an episode getting T-bagged by DOG the Bounty Hunter... I've gotten in more trouble with out of state plates I swear....Damn.
Ok so I was driving back from an appointment the other day and as I was coming up this car was really poking in the left lane. I've never been great at using my turn signal so I sort of cut over to the left lane in front of this car, though I thought there was plenty of space. The car then rides up on my ass and I move over to the right lane. The car follows me and I immediately went into the, "O-shit" mode....turns out to be an unmarked cop car. This guy was a real asshole, he started honking at me to pull over. So I finally get over and realize I don't have my wallet on me....great. The cop comes up to my window, Cop: "License and registration." Me: "Sorry officer I just realized I left my wallet in my pants back home." Then I realize I don't have my registration either (Don't ask....lol). Now I know this and I knowingly open up my passenger glove box to look for the registration that I clearly know is not in the car, and a crumpled up piece of paper falls out. Cop: "License and registration......what's that? Oh look speeding, and driving without a registration, dated 3 months ago." Me: "Just look at my plates sir, everything will check out." Cop: "Who's the car registered to." Me: "Me, just pull up the plates." Cop: "Keep up the attitude...buddy and it'll be MY car." Now I wanted to say you wish you could drive a car like this, but I bit my tongue. How the hell could he tow the car when the plates and everything are registered in my name? I smell Bullshit. So he comes back and gives me a ticket for "Improper unsafe lane movement", driving without a registration, and a "Verbal" warning for speeding. Lol...I must've been going maybe 3 miles over. Yeah, Yeah I was in the wrong I guess....but this dude seriously must have had an egg shoved up his ass or something....a real prick. My out of state plates, blacked-out tinted car....and the fact it's a BMW probably didn't help either. |

Nah, I've gotten myself in trouble quite a bit recently, and the result has been more and more citations for tickets in the last few months.
Before the last couple months.... I had a flawless record. The place I've been staying at is pretty much Yupp-boy central. Rich white-collar central with the fat, overweight police officers with nothing to do. Here I come in with my out of state plates, music blaring, and blacked-out car in their ass-tight community..... Within the first day, I was pulled over.....and the officer was shocked to see my face...almost like he was expecting some 300lb black dude from down south. I knew I shouldn't have tinted 15% Last edited by Noc57; 05-18-2009 at 12:48 AM.. |

Judging from how you're writing, and what happened, you are completely at fault. I'm guessing more than likely the situation went like this:
You see a car going slow in the left lane, and get pissed off cuz thats not right (fuckers are supposed to drive slowly in the right lane) So you decide to cut that asshole off to let him know whats up, then bam wam youre pulled over by the undercover cop Then he comes over and youre giving him 'tude saying "Dude, I have my license, it's not on me, so just check my damn plates!" Cop decides he doesn't need to take your attitude, and warns you. He then decides to give you one last chance and runs your plates, and sees that is registered to you. He lets you off easily, and you come on here and complain.

What did you want the cop to do? Give you a high five for driving a nice bimmer, and then let you off with a friendly warning?
I know some cops are real assholes, but sounds to me like this one he's just doing his job. Sorry I dislike people on the road that turn without signaling so you don't have my sympathy. |

Typical. The minute a cop thinks he's being "disrespected" he'll act like a complete tough guy/jackass and pull you over and give you a bunch of bs tickets to "teach you a lesson." But if you've got a shooter held up in a house/school/church it'll take 'em a good hour or two before they do anything. I'd love to see some courage out of officers when you *really* need 'em - and i don't mean when someone's driving like a yoyo.

I don't think it had anything at all to do with your car being a bimmer. Most cops I know couldn't care less about the kind of car you have and wouldn't pull someone over because of it. If you're doing something illegal you get stopped, if you're not, you're fine. If you were driving a 1973 Mercury Capri I'd guess the outcome would have been the same.

Sounds like you got what you deserved. I have no love for cops, but there doing a job. Reason cops usually have an attitude is after months/years of dealing with people that have attiitudes like you.
Like JeepJeep said, you cut him off, by your own words, without even signaling. Aggressively driving. A little courtesy by all drivers would make driving on public roads a lot more enjoyable. Quote:

What to say in my rookie post...
Cutting the nose off a cop and them telling him how to do his job because you have no ID and Reg. Hopefully the guy knows that not all BMW drivers deserve the reputation we get when things like this happen... |
