Exclamation Warning: Those Who Buy Gas W/ Credit Card

if you are buying gas with credit card watch out cause they are now charging .10 more per gallon , not sure if it applies to debit cards as well or any other gas stations but just a warning.

if it all gas stations, it's uber gay...

the only gas stations i see doing that here are truck stops in the middle of nowhere, and that's just for diesel.

I use a Speedpass at Exxon Mobilstations and get my gas charged to one of my credit cards. The two combined give back 4% rebate on the purchase that goes to my son's college fund through UPromise program (link below).

No extra charges ...

i'm pretty sure it works just like a savings account, not a separate CC.

Yes, you have to get their Master Card (through MBNA) and use it as the default charge card for your Speedpass program. There also other rebate incentive programs for dinning out and on line shopping. I use the card for my business purchases and have got a few thousand dollars back into my son's college savings account since joining a few years ago. PM me if you need more info.

Good luck....

this is old news, it makes sense though since they have to pay 3% or 4% to the cc company

NJs been doing it for a while now. First southern Jersey, and now more and more in the northern areas.

Isn't that illegal? But then in the Bay Area they don't do this. Unless they automatically know that I have a credit card and charge more for each gallon so if it was 2.50 they charge 2.55 then I am screwed. But on the statement the price is right..

1.5% (Slightly higher for AmEx). Any business paying more has bad management.
