DIY...Got Rattle?
If you have a rattle coming from the front underneth the engine..it's the air vent or whatever is called. I fix the rattle in 15 minutes, while the dealer took 2.5 days and changed a new strut for me...lol
Tools: 8mm & 10mm socket/wrench some thin plastic (about 1/2 inch long) 1) remove the front panel 2) insert plastics to fill-in the open spaces of the connectors (you can use anything that will fit into the ******* you don't have to remove your wheel Pic #2 - thats the piece that rattles Pic #3,4 - this is where you want to insert some plastic so that it won't be loose That's it

yeah, but how can you hear the rattle when the engine is roaring and the air duct is all the way in front outside the driver cabin? You must have super natural hearing (like deer) Do you have any rattles inside the cabin? I have the seatbelt rattle and the door lock pin rattle...they bother me a little but I combat them by turning on the stereo
You got any permanent solution to my rattles? |

I'm getting a rattle when I turn up the radio on a song with deep bass. I don't hear it inside or while driving but if I'm outside the car I can hear it. Sounds like it's coming from somewhere in the engine compartment. I wonder if is coming from this same piece?

Well...I know is coming from the front and I doubt is anything from the engine so I check all these plastic parts/pieces and got really lucky to find the rattle.
I could hear the rattle at low speed and more noticalbe on bumpy roads. Quote:

Open the cover for the break-light on the back window. The wire thats connected to the break-light should have a white plastic piece to hold the connector. If your connector is dangling there, then that's the rattle noise you're probably hearing. I tried using electrical tape and regular tape/stickers to hold it there, but it doesnt hold well in the sun. maybe you can use the felt tape?
