is there a significant difference in braking with the bmw performance pads and a race fluid as opposed to stock? with this set up bmw wont have an issue with brake warranty work correct? thanks

last i heard the bmw performance pads are not avail yet in the USA.

performance pads will make a huge difference. fluid is not such a big deal as long as it is fresh (up to 6 months old. )

Maybe the warranty on the rotors....but that would be about it I think.

I would run the Pagids.....THEN, if needed, swap them out before you go in for service. It only takes a few minutes to swap them out and the only "out of the ordinary" tool you need is a 7mm allen socket.

If you put the pads on for the track and then put the stockers back on for the street, I don't see how BMW couldn't honor their waranty (free maintenance, really) . It's what I plan to do and if the rotors wear out, they'd better replace them. Afterall, it's not my fault they couldn't equip the car with track-worthy hardware

There are other threads in this forum that cover those details in length, but the consensus seems to be the Pagids. They are available from a number of BMW tuners, but seem to be in short supply about now.

You get what you pay for. Keep in mind, the Pagids cost for a reason. You might want to consider the price of rotors when you buy inexpensive pads. Rotors are prolly around 400 bucks each.

I thought Pagids are not rotors friendly ... I might be wrong ...

Read my WGI track report. I strongly suggest not using HT10s.

Although they're not out yet, Performance Friction pads are very rotor friendly in my experience.

I bought a set of Euro floating rotors for my e46 M3 (like what we have on the e9x) and had them cyro treated. I then ran a set of PF-Z rated pads and three sets of PF-01s and didn't wear them significantly. The cryo treatment might have contributed as well.

The point is that if you buy the right equipment, even if it's more expensive, you might save money in the long run.

Pagids are pricey -- but last forever. On a cost per track day basis, they are quite reasonable. AS with many things -- you get what you pay for...

Anyone has used Carbotech with the new M3 yet? Price point is interesting.

$395 for a set of Pagid RS19 is a bit steep. Lucid does seem to think they held up too well at the track....

Many have used the Carbotech. IMO the best pad out there.
