Results: Drag at Mission Raceway
Hey guys, I had a chance to take my car up to Mission race way in BC, Canadialand for some redemption on my last trip to the drag strip at pacific raceway. For those that remember my best time last trip was a 14.2 @ 104.4 MPH for a stock 335 w/ muffler deleted straight pipes on but otherwise stock. I was less than pleased with that result
But since then I have put the stock muffler back on and swapped out the fail fest stock open diff. for a Quaife LSD. My hope was that with the new diff. launching the car would be easier as before I had massive wheel hop and TCS issues. Good news! The car is now a dream to launch... first run was a 13.9 at 102.3 mph with a real soft launch. Totally effortless to run, just dial in 2000-2500 rpm with release the clutch out and in the gas both fairly quickly and you get a smooth powerful thrust out of the hole, no drama. Next run was my best a 13.733 @ 102.79 with a slightly more aggressive launch. Here's the slip. Next run I tried a much more aggressive launch around ~4500 rpm with a faster clutch engagement. I got some wheel spin off the line and had to lift slightly to get it under control but then it rocketed through first. The time was a tad slower but the MPH was better with a 13.799 @103.47. Slip action: Overall I'm ecstatic with the result It was pretty hot on friday so the MPH was lower than my previous times at the strip. Next up: Put the pipes back on, some better tires and a Procede. Aiming for 12's in street trim. That is all
