Question e92 problem

hey guys...just want to see if this happens on every e92...

Scenario 1:
unlock the car
the driver and passenger opens the doors and gets in the car
closes doors
turn the engine on
driver side seat belt extender extends the seat belt to the driver (but doesnt extend on the passenger side)

Scenario 2:
unlock the car
the driver opens the door and gets in
closes door
turn on the engine
driver side seat belt extender extends the seat belt to the driver
passenger opens the door and gets in
passenger side seat belt extender extends the seat belt to the passenger

is this an issue? the dealership tried updating the software but still have this problem. the passenger has to reach for the seat belt 99% of the time.

scenario 1 is wrong, it should send out both extenders if both doors were opened.

i thought its wrong...i even tested by timing both sides doing exact same thing at the same time...drive side works perfectly but passenger side doesnt. it would only extend if the passenger opens the door and closes it again. it's so weird. they replaced my seatbelt like 5 times and the extender 2-3 times....

The detecter in the passenger seat is defective. The xtender does not work if it thinks there is no passenger there.

^^ What he said. Sounds like the sensor mat inside of the seat. The seat cushion may need to be replaced under warranty.

i thought its not a sensor? isnt it based on the door opening? cuz sometimes i get stuff from the other side, the seat belt will extend anyways

Definitely not the seat sensor on mine at least. It seems to work based on whether the door is opened. If I open and close the passenger door without anyone sitting down, the extender still comes out.

Absolutely agreed with you right there and that is how mine work as well.
