I'm going to be a daddy!!

Now that the missus has had her 12 week scan, I've been given the all clear to say....

I'm going to be a daddy for the first time

To say I'm happy is an understatement.

Here are a couple of the scan photos of "junior"

Nice one, it's so surreal watching that screen for the first time isn't it. Lots to get prepared now but it's all worth it in the end. Good luck to you both and hope the missus doesn't feel too shitty for long.

Congrats...been there twice in the last 18 months, fantastic feeling and the next 6 months wait will seem like an age!!! Also be prepared for the constant question from the other half -

"Have you thought of a name yet?!"

I must have heard this a thousand times!! In the end we chose both names on the day of the birth

Jules.

I changed the name on the day of the birth .. he looked much more a Zak then a Zain (it sound stupid - but just wait 6 months and youll be thinking 'does he/she look like XXX'

Our little one is 7 months now - and most of the house has his stuff in there - and i think he has more clothes now then i have ever owned!

Best feeling ever bud - www.kiddicare.com will be your best friend!

Richardlkay,
Congratulations on the wonderful news. All I can say is there isn't any feeling like it in the entire universe. Being a parent is the best. It has been a long, long time since I was in your exact position, but I can remember the day that I held my very fisrt son like it was yesterday. Now... I am the dad of 4 sons and the grandfather to a 3-yr-old grandson and a 1-yr-old granddaughter. Wait until you get to that point. They are a total blast! Congrats again, and best wishes for a flawless pregnancy.

Absolutely right!!

You almost compensate for lack of not being able to spend on the car by pretending that Baby Accessories are like buying car accessories, e.g. you should have seen how I over analysed which pram to buy , what spec does it come, what colour options are there, can they be upgraded at a later date , I just couldn't help myself! Needless to say that the pram we bought was chosen by my wife , however although very pricey, it was definitely the right choice as we've loved it!

Jules.
