buying an used X3 advise please?

my family is planning to buy an used X3 and use it for another 3-4 years.
we been looking at 2006 models, the 2.5l small engine
are there any pos and cons in 2006? I mean is it reliable?
what kind of things to avoid?

I dont know about Canadian configurations, but the U.S X3 did not come with the 2.5 I6 after 2005 MY.
The 2006 is about the most reliable and better riding model before the refresh in 2007.
