Sold my B5 Audi S4... replaced with a 2009 BMW E90 335i!

Hi All! First time poster here.

I sold my beloved 2001 B5 Audi S4 recently and took ownership of a new 2009 335i xDrive sedan last week! I placed the order for my BMW back in February.

My B5 S4 was silver with black/silver alcantara seats. I just couldn't bring myself to get another silver exterior black interior car again, although I loved that combination on the S4. Just wanted to do something different this time. I know that Monaco Blue and the beige interior will be a bit harder to keep clean... but as someone else mentioned on this board, that will play into my obsessive compulsive disorder quite nicely. At least I got black floor mats... not beige ones.

The thing I miss most about my S4? Not having a car payment!

I don't plan on getting too mod crazy with the car. Other than hardwiring my Valentine 1, I don't have any other mods planned at this point. I did pay to have the 3M clearbra installed before I took ownership of the car.

I'm trying to keep an open mind about the runflats and give them a chance. But I am leaning towards replacing them with non-runflats when I use up the tread on the OEM runflats. I plan to purchase a separate set of rims and winter tires later this year anyway. I live in the Pittsburgh area, and am sold on having separate rims & winter tires after having that combination on my S4, which worked out great for winter driving. I also opted to get 17" rims instead of 18" rims since the roads & potholes can get pretty bad around here.

Anyway, I'm really loving the 335i! And I'm digg'n the iDrive.

- Joe

That's also the thing I miss most about my WRX. It's worth it every time you get behind the wheel though. Welcome and congrats on your new ride.

There's one mod that I would suggest to you...the OEM short shift knob! It's a quick one minute swap and makes shifting a lot better. Less than $100 too!

Your B5 was a great car. A buddy of mine has a B5 S4 and he said he would never replace it, lol.

welcome and congrats! tbh i miss the quattro system on my b5 audi. having my back wheels loose traction during rain for the first time in the xi bimmer was just disappointing.

Nothing can defy the laws of physics. Not even electronics. There was another factor here that we don't know about.(i.e. you were speeding, a puddle, how hard it was raining etc..)

Be careful out there. I haven't had my rear end slip at all except when I'm taking a corner and I hit a pothole.
