Which oil is best

Hi Guys

Hope you are all having a good Easter

Some help please, which in your opinion is the best oil for my E90 M3, the handbook states 'BMW approved oil' but only give the grade, it does say use Castrol though. My dealer (service dept) is not available until Tuesday and I need to add the litre as soon as I can.

Only had the car three weeks so apologies if this question seems a bit lame!

I only use Castrol TWS 10W60. It's what BMW use, so I stick to it. Try Opie Oils for a good price.

Hi Biscuits

I guessed it would be this one, thanks.

How do like the 130i? I had one of these when they first rolled off the shelf (same model as yours MSport), mine was blue with black int. Went like stink but a bit of a handful. A friend of mine got the new Golf R32 at the same time, I couldn't help thinking I wish I had....very close in specs but the R32 just felt more planted with it's 4wd. The back mine 130i danced around like ballerina of speed!

Thanks again!

The 130i is great, but with the OEM Run-Flats it's very very twitchy and always scrabbling for traction. Last year I took it to the 'Ring, but had a nice set of ACS Type 3's with normal ruber, made a huge difference. It's my wife's car and she doesn't want to change it for anything... so have the run-flats back on for convienience.

+1 I use it as well. Just did an oil change on the M3, and it uses about 9 litres of oil
