Tire rotation at 10,000 mi ?

Hi,

I've a 330xi without sport package and it's about 10,000 miles now. I've not done rotation on my tires at all. Do you think it's time now? How often should I do it? and is it ok if I have local tire shops do it for me?

Thanks a lot!

For the non-sports models (all 4 tires the same size), is there a reason for not rotating the front & back tires on the same side? Is there something related to them being run flats?

On an XI the wear should be relatively even (4WD). So no need.

On a RWD (all 4 same size), I would rotate them every 5K myself. I probably would pay no more than $25 for someone to do it.

You don't rotate tires on BMWs, regardless of which drivetrain you have. Something to do with wear patterns.

So how long do runflats last then normally? I mean for a non-aggressive driver.

Thanks for your input.

Since the tires are not directional you could rotate from side to side not front to rear and at every 6-8k miles. I don't see any reason not too. If the tires were all the same size you would rotate so going from left to right should not cause any problems unless someone has a better reason than because BMW told me not too. WHY?
