Not to mention replacing the existing heavyweight pilot with a bantamweight version Joking aside, there is more to come from the car if I were to get a proper ramair induction air intake and a proper exhaust, and also use sticky cup sport tyres... In the meantime though, I have to admit to being pretty happy with the results of today!

Excellent results Tony.

Is it still running 395bhp and 455lb/ft? If so then the diff must be helping make the difference, are your 60ft times sub 2 secs?

Looks like you have easily the fastest E9* on the strip (M3's poss also!), most certainly the fastest petrol

Jules.

60ft time was 2.02secs - the diff is helping, but it's probably the fact I have catless downpipes that is making the most difference... I had it on a dyno the other day, and it's developing 360hp at the wheels...!!! So it's a bit(!) more than last time!!!

I'm still getting a fair bit of wheelspin off the line - if i were to use sticky tyres like Cup Sports, my 60ft time should drop to around 1.8secs, which will be a significant drop in 1/4mile time.... There is definitely more to come, especially if I sort out the rest of the breathing restrictions for the engine...

I might have, and probably would have, gone quicker in the afternoon if I'd stayed around - however it was the Maragoni fast show today and I only had 4 runs for my £25... ripoff!! Didn't want to spend more money just to queue for ages. Will go back towards the back end of April and see what happens then. Normally, my afternoon runs have been up to a few tenths quicker than my morning runs, although i'm thinking the difference isn't going to be so much next time. We'll have to see!

PS... and I'm not falling for any petrol vs diesel goading, Mr...!!!

Very impressive. You must be knocking on 440bhp and with more to come....

You are right about your 60ft, every tenth you save there you can take straight off your finish time, the sticky tyres will make a difference and it will also help if you can soften your rear suspension and firm up your front (is yours adjustable?)

Jules.

Great times and awesome power, my E46 was only making 380 at the wheels.

I run Cups on my track wheels and TBH they need to be very warm before you benefit from the softer compound, probably warmer than you could get them before doing a run, unless you sit there spinning the wheels for ages, which will kill them in no time. They`re more designed for lateral grip.

You`d be better going with some Hoosier or Mickey Thompson DR`s on smaller rear wheels.

agree on the tyres thing... Proper Drag Radials are needed. Must be able to get a cousin to ship us some over here ? Some Nitto's or something ?

A totally standard 335i should be about 13.9secs at about 102mph

Beats any E92 M3 and E60 M5/M6 standard or modded out there at the moment!

I've seen a std M5 e60 run regular 12.6 and 7's so a modded one or M6 will be quicker I would have thought?
