Custom FMIC in progress.....

I posted this in the Turbo/Engine/Exhaust Modification section, but I wanted to share this with the NW'er as well. All comments are welcomed, enjoy!!

So I posted a thread a while ago about getting a custom FMIC done. Well, it's finally going to happen thanks to ETS(Extreme Turbo Systems) in La Center, WA.

I dropped my car of on the 6th of March, and about a week later, here are the progression pictures. Right now they are only doing the preliminaries as far as measuring the OEM IC and finding the right size IC core to work with.

I was told that they'll probably go with the stepped core technology from the Helix IC. Which should be interesting to see, I'm very excited. My car is suppose to get dyno'd after they fabricate the whole kit. That way, we can have the OEM and the new IC dyno'd in the same day, just simply bolt on/off in exchange.

Anyway, enough talking, here are the preliminary pictures. More soon to follow......

Really? Was it right after you saw their post about wanting a local 335i to do an IC kit on?

I previously been to ETS about a year ago regarding the custom IC, but shit just got so pushed back that I eventually gave up......

I had asked them to maintain the fitment so I don't have to cut anything OEM in order to fit the IC, unlike some of the ones out there.

interesting... I like the current options out there for FMIC upgrades as far as quality but for the performance gain I don't think they are worth it right now. maybe when more people get into upgraded twins IC upgrades will become more of an issue.

When I get the files from ETS, I'll post the results of dyno runs with and without after market FMIC.
