BMW sent me my title and I leased the car
For some reason, BMW sent me the title to my E92 and I am only leasing the car. This is the first time I have leased a car so I am not sure what normally happens with the title (I assumed BMW held onto it). They have called a couple of times and are obviously worried about the fact that they sent it to me. Is there any way I could use this to my benefit?

Do the honest thing and return it. Then if you need something in the future, call the guy you're dealing with and have them "take care of you" for things like servicing, parts, etc.
Just because you have the title it doesn't mean it's yours exactly. I'm sure there are legal avenues the dealership can use against you. Otherwise, if you drop your keys outside your BMW and someone picks it up and drives your car away and sells it, it should be legally binding right? I mean you DID give them the car by accident... |

Out of curiosity, who's name is on the title?
Since you are admitting here that you are only a leasee, you really don't have any options. Send them back the title. |

I haven't seen it so I am not sure my parents just told me that they had it. I just wanted to see what people thought or if there was any significance to it.

I know that Maryland will send you the title for the car you purchased even though its financed. I'm not sure if the same thing happens if its leased but I'm pretty sure it does but legally they can take the car away from you.
However, I know for a fact VA does not do this so there maybe a way to keep the car. The next logical step is to brake into the dealership that leased the vehicle and set their files on fire

ask your laywer for recommandation and see if theres any legal way to keep the car. If there is a way around it then keep it. Stealerships deserve this once a while

Wait, does the title list your name only? Does BMWFS appear as the lienholder or anything like that?
If it lists your name only it means that made a VERY BIG mistake... should have leased an M6 dude.

Look at your paper work....if your buyers order says Retail PURCHASE agreement ......instead of LEASE agreement(most dealers make this mistake) You now have a case against bmw.....not only do you have the title to the car but your contract says purchase agreement even if there are lease payments listed on the paperwork its still reads "purchase agreement" meaning you purchased the car....(people have fought this common paperwork error alone and won easily.....)a good lawyer will be able to show in court that the dealer mislead you to believe that you purchased the vehicle... with the paperwork and title in hand you have more then enough amo.
Or a big risk that would never work.....stop paying your payment and when bmw repos your car sue them and call the cops, and get the car back and some cash for the mishap haha...... |
