Mountain Run

Well, it was about 66-67° today - took a drive up to the mountains (Blood Mountain, Richard Russel road, near Helen, 19/74 whereever) with some friends who were all driving bikes - three Ducati's and a BMW K1200s.

Good times.

Wow. What camera/lens are you using? Narrow DOF done in Photoshop? The coloring is very cool too.

the lens is a tilt/shift - no blurring in photoshop. and thank you for the compliment!

Call - next weekend, we may be going again. it was so fun - i had not been able to drive my car like that yet. two of the bikes were slowing me down, and when i was in the middle - i was nearly tailing the bmw bike.

the only salt/gravel we ran into was at the spot where these photos were taken - other than that, the conditions were quite good.

I guess you passed me coming home as I was also heading home. But I was at work, sounds like you had more fun. That was the first time a 1 has passed me since I've had a 1. I was really impressed with how the car looks on the road.

the guys on the bikes were saying the same thing all day - how great the car looks on the roadways. it was really fun - we should all head up there one weekend when the weather is like it was today or warmer.

Also, Call - if you want, we can make a run next weekend, for some high-speed photos. Didn't get a chance to do it today. I have two 70-lb-rated suction-cup mounts for my camera and a wireless remote motor-drive for the shutter release.
Anyone else that's up for it would be fine, too.

Booked the rest of the month but looking for some time in March. I will be going on an all day drive on Tuesday with some of my MINI buddies.

I'd love some photo ops. We can set up some motion shots for sure. Just let me know when you guys have an itch and I'll try to set some time aside...the North Georgia Mt are my childhood playground.

And...when you are with me we don't let anything slow us down.

I've been those mountain road and enjoyed every curves that I encountered. Having fun drivning is good, but watch out for the speed traps. I've got 1 ticket in NC sveral weeks ago. I've noticed quite a lot more traffic cop activities lately and I think it is real for the small town to raise budget by getting more revenue from the speeding ticket citation. It is free money to them but not to the consumer.
