Black Sapphire will look clean longer and show less swirls, scratches, and other defects. But when Jet Black is clean and detailed, nothing beats it.

Of course that only lasts about 5 min...

I think there is no winner....

To resume:

BS: + easier to clean, less swirl effect, metallic effect (if you like it)

- The color is not so depth like Jetblack, offer less contrast with ligth interior, extra $$$, any repaint operation could be visible

Jet Black: + the dephtest black i have ever seen, uncredible shiny effect, no extra $$$, easy to be repainted (in case ...)

- swirl are much more visible, need wax to offer his best effect

lol ^ same

I have black sapphire on my Z4, but honestly it doesn't really matter. Sure there's more depth in jet black but to the untrained eye BS and JB are the same. My last car was jet black, thank God this one is a little easier to clean.

I went for jet black, but I must admit it was a close call.

Must agree that the JB looks fabulous when clean - and by using a quality polish , it can retain a shine even when a little grubby.

I think black sapphire is a nice color.

But Jet Black is just pure sex. So deep and thick, I love it. When my Dad first saw my Jet Black E90 his first words were "Wow, your car is so BLACK", lol.

jb, cause thats the colour of my car. iam not a fan of metallic paint, especially at the premium price that we have to pay for it here.

i spent my options money elsewhere.

it comes down to priorities.

Jet Black vs Sapphire Black .. normal maintenence like occasional Ziano .. five years from now ... SB will still be gleaming new. IMO.
