my comfort access keyfob went thru the wash...And still works?!

Yeah so after I washed my car, I threw all my laundry into the wash including my pants which I had my keyfob in. This morning, I found it in my laundry and I went upstairs and it still works perfectly!

How is that possible after being submerged in soapwater?

Now, did i run down the battery life a bit? Should I use the other fob just in case? I dont want to get stuck somewhere with a bad fob.

BTW how much does it cost to replace a keyfob and whats the procedure?

The FOB's usually have a rubber seal around it. I accidently went swimming all day ith my SUV FOB and I opened it up to check for damage and dry as dirt. I don't think you did any harm at all. You still have the spare one in the glove compartment.

I know someone mentioned they bought a third FOB but can't remember the price. I think they are usually around $75-$100. He also said they needed all day to program the new FOB.

There was another thread where a member claimed this happened and many others admitted that they too washed their fob and it still worked. My boyfriend went in the ocean with ours and it was fine.
