Auto-Headlamp Setting

for those with i-Drive, what setting do you keep your Auo-Lights in?

Sensitive
Normal
Slower

i had them in normal, but they were not going on when i went through tunnels, and underpasses.

i had them in sensitive and they would basically stay on everytime i drove the car.

i had them in slower, and they never came on until the sun was aaaaalllllll the way down.

Advice?

It would be nice if there was a way for those of us without i-Drive to adjust this setting!

Does anyone know if the Dealer can program this?

I don't believe so...

Anyway I usually turn the lights on/off manually instead of the using the auto feature. In the day time, with the auto feature on, the lights would turn on whenever I entered my garage. I figured it wasn't good for the xenons to be turned on for only a few seconds like that twice a day. I night I just put the switch to auto to turn the lights "on".

BUUUT.... if you dont leave the headlights in Auto, you lose the Dynamic Adaptive for the Xenon, they will just stay forward, and wont go left and right... thats why i leave them in Auto.

Same here... that's why I wish we (non-iDrive) could change the sensitivity. I still have to beleive there is a way to programs this. iDrive is just an interface into MOST:

MOST (an acronym for Media Oriented Systems Transport) is a networking standard intended for interconnecting multimedia components in automobiles and other vehicles.

For more details on MOST:

That's why I use the "Auto" position at night to actually turn the lights on....

ohh got it. Yeah thats what i have been doing too, simply because they are either on all the time, or never on... so lame. All the Audi's are one setting, and they come on at the perfect time of day, and turn off when they are supposed to as well.

they turn on the second you go under an over pass on the freeway then turn off the second your out.

BMW: your light sensor sucks!
