New M3 Sedan Spied Again!
Hey look what I found on autospies...
"A. Kuhn, a proud M5 E60 owner, spotted the BMW M3 Sedan in a convoy, de-badged, on Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles this morning, June 19, 2006. He chatted with the driver of the convoy's last car who confirmed it was the BMW M3 Sedan not yet in release." Looks real to me. Huge fenders kinda give it away. Don't see quad exhaust and there is a chrome trim which would mean that it isn't an M. But this is a test car and the other photos that we saw of the M3 Sedan had a chrome trim. |

Can't see anything but a blur pic of a 330i de-badged.

New M3 sedan?
I've seen the prototype on a California freeway- it had the quad exhaust and a BIG hood bulge, very cool lookin... But this may or may not be it. It does have bigger fenders though. Also saw the new 335 sedan in the same convoy- simply ballsy with awesome twin exhaust pipes.
Seeing how this car was in a convoy of 3's my bet is it IS a new M3 test mule.... |

The fenders and the wheels looks like the M3 spy shots IMO.

It looks like an M3 Sedan just from the wheel configuration to me. Its really amazing to see M3 test vehicles over here in the USA so soon, either BMW has changed the order in which it tests cars, or the M3s are coming out alot sooner then everyone thinks!!

Yeah...yeah...If you cannot tell the difference between these "claimed m3" from an e90, then they should be e90s. No need to argue. M3 can never be mistakened with a regular sedan.

Holy crap man it is a test mule. It will have M3 guts and that's about it. The distinctive body work is the last thing to be added since it is mostly for show anyway. These cars are made to wring out the more important things in the car. i.e. engine, suspension, and drive train. So basically your comment is incorrect. You would be right if this were a production M3, but it isn't, so your not.

do you not concur that from the extremely unclear and blurry picture, it could simply be just a modded E90 whose lines and features are distorted (and maybe even enhanced in PS) by the bad weather, rain and darkness?

Why would they test any M car on a CA freeway? Won't test anything except for overheating in traffic jams.
Hardly 'motoring heaven' Like Audi, who only test on mainland europe (except for heat extremes), I thought BM would be the same.

Test mules generally have more than just guts. They are usually distinguishable. That picture doesn't even have quad pipes. When I would see test mules of E46 M3's, E60 M5's, etc., they still looked very similar to their production counterparts. That picture looks like a normal E90 with different wheels. Quote:
Test mules run amuck in Southern California (..many in Oxnard). Testing on California freeways is as pertinent to production as testing on California backroads, and the Autobahn, especially considering that California is the heart of North American car culture. Your assessment is logically vacant. |

Been noticing many camouflage vehicles on Wilshire lately. I saw two Suv's last week. Going to start carrying my camera with me. Maybe I will get lucky and catch some Bimmers.
