Remember production versions would have the sides coverd


Also, these were shown something like 2 years ago by Michelin and they said it would be something like 8 years before they would be released

Magazines that tested them when Michelin showed them about 2 years said they were very close to normal tires performance.

The concept ist new, many military vehcles use these type of tires.

Production tires would look kust like current ones

They just left the sidewalls off to show the insides on these

The only reason you'd need a spare is if you hit something so big that it actually destroyed the wheel. I think it's a great idea, if they can make it work for production cars.
