328i sedan help please

I ordered my 325i a while ago. and it will arrive around the end of july/start of aug.

the question is, should i cancel my order and wait for the 328i?
ive read alot of ppl saying that the 328i is going to come in sept. should i wait?

i remember when i ordered the car, the dealer was so sure that the 328i sedan wouldn't be out until another year.. do you think its possible to write a note on the agreement that if it does come out within 1 year, i get to change it into a 328?

please help me out guys, im going crazy deciding this..

depends on your situation, if it were me, I'd wait. But I already have a coupe

I'm not sure what you mean by "change it into a 328" but you can trade it in whenever you want.

It's your money...the dealer can't make you buy the car...Go with the 328...if you don't you may regret it every time you see one on the road and it may take away fro your enjoyment of your 325.

If nothing else you will save money with higher resale from a 2007 model rather than 2006. If you are buying a car in summer it is usually better to wait a month or so and get the next model year.

I have a 325i and the car is great. I wouldn't change it for anything even if BMW release a 328i soon. When the face lifted e90 comes out then there will be a simialr sinerio with ppl undecided on whether to get the current e90 or wait for the facelifted one . Where does it stop??? If your really bothered about the hp increase, badge and you got time to wait then yes cancel your order. If your worried that a 325i willl lose value when the 328i comes out then don't be becuase soon down the chain someting new on the e90 will happen again and the 328i will be in the same position.

Just buy whats best for you and enjoy!

i'd wait until they add direct injection to the 328(or whatever it evolves into).

thanks for the advice guys.. i was originally going to lease the 325i.. so im not really afraid of the resale value. if the 328i comes in sept then ill wait for sure.. so most ppl on here thinks the 328i is gonna replace the 325i in sept?

on the side note, is it possible to tune the engine to go to 255hp?? since its the same engine as the 330? Would the upsolute chip, intake and exhaust be enough?

Keep what you got unless you are really unhappy with your choice. All the hoopla with 335 and 328 is getting sick and this will continue with every other new model that comes out. The 325 E90 is the first of the line that is different from the older lines. The 328 sill have few changes but will no doubt still look like an E90.

There will always be something better just around the corner, and it is only natural that those on the forums will talk only about the latest and greatest. If you can avoid getting caught up in that, then more power to you. It’s not easy. However, you have to jump in at some point or you will drive yourself crazy.

I have not been around these forums all that long, but I have been around “enthusiast” forums long enough to predict what sort of messages we’ll see over the next six months to a year. First, an explosion of posts with the official announcements regarding the 335i/328i sedans. Then, a series of enthusiastic posts as people place their orders. Next, a bunch of messages from those on the bleeding edge who get their cars first – these will emphasize how much better the new cars are than last year’s E90s. Others will chime in about how they wish they could be in the new owners’ shoes. Next, a number of posts about problems with the new E90s, and several owners or owners-to-be will be nostalgic for the 330i/325i, when they didn’t have those issues. Finally, a settling down, a relative calm, and a building excitement about the next new thing just around the corner. Then it begins again.

You can wait or not. Either way, you’ll get a great car.

no, not possible to do. bmw design and build prevent that.

if you want 255hp, buy the 330. bmw spend millions developing the car, so trying to modify it has not resulted in anything substantial for performance boost from 3rd party professionals yet.

dinan may have something for the 330 very soon.

Tell the dealer your dilemma.

With the new car around the corner, I am sure their is a little extra room for negotiating. Plus, he'd rather get your money now than later.

The 328i will have a bit more go for a bit more money -- so it's a bit of a wash. Use your dilemma as leverage and try to get another grand off.

Good luck.

P.S. There will always be another upgraded bimmer for you at the end of your lease.

I guarentee you won't miss the 15 extra horsepower. Look at the 325 vs 330 example: 0-60 is half a second apart with a 40 horsepower difference. Can you imagine how close 15 hp would be?

That is right thinking.
I don´t know if you guys have seen the dynotest off the 330 and 325.Here in Sweden the cars mag Techworld got
these numbers:
330i 337 hp 299NM
325i 217 hp 237NM orig.218hp, just one less.
So there´s only 20 more hp in 330i. The tourque is quite a bit better so it´s a bit faster.

just my 2c
