Bad A.T on track

Hi guys!

Im new in this forum, my name is Rafael from Mexico, i have read for few weeks 1addicts forum.

I have my 135i 2009 AUTOMATIC WITH PADDLE SHIFT for 4 months only 2,500 miles , this weekend was my first experience with the 135i on track it was on Amozoc , Puebla one of the best tracks in Mexico.

the first run was aroun 12.30 pm , a very good driver take the control of my 135i to show me how to take every corner , tricks , etc that every track needs. So first 2 laps were very very fast , then at the 4th lap I saw oil temperature @ 140 degrees aprox!!! so I got concerned, my friend and I realize that the car get into a " LIMP MODE " and stop giving the 100% power than the 3 laps before, I RUN THE CAR FOR 3 TIMES THAT DAY AND IT STILL WITH THE SAME RESULT,

I have 2 friend in Mexico with the same problem in their 135i ( AUTOMATIC ) what we have to do?? what we have to change?

For reminder: On highway , freeway, traffic 135i doesnt have any problem. ONLY TRACK

REGARDS!!

P.S. SORRY FOR MY LAME ENGLISH

you need an additional oil cooler. dinan makes one. i dont think many on this board have go this route, but id search e90post as many have had to add an additional or 'better' oil cooler for the track.

Well Raflekt,

That's a typical side-effect for a turbo powered engine, I am affraid. I have seen this effect on many .35i TT engine users. The .35i TT engine is - I am affraid - not a typical race-track engine, but more a higway cruiser. But there are some race-drivers here on the site, maybe you should ask them.

Maybe, an extra oil-cooler can help something, but I am affraid that it won't avoid the effect of to high oil temperatures.

Good luck! ACS1.35i

Here is a thread about a project track car.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11907

I believe they installed a larger oil cooler? I didn't read all of it... but there are a few builds where they dealt with this very issue.

You might ask this company if their 335i oil cooler kit will fit your 135i.
