Climate Control Settings

How do you guys normally operate your climate control? I prefer to use AUTO and let the car do the rest, but I have noticed the light on the A/C button is almost always on in AUTO mode. Is this normal?

I use the manual setting instead of the Auto. I believe the light should stay on to indicate the selection.

I've never seen the AC light off unless I turn it off

I just let auto take care of it, although on hotter sunnier days I do have to set it a couple degrees cooler to account for the extra heat
