Thumbs up

I'm very satisfied with the T1R's on my MINI.
This past weekend was the wettest since they have been on the car, and slowing down for corners was minimal, if at all required.
Very confidence inspiring in the wet.
Have had no problem with dry traction or ride comfort, highly recommended.
These will be first choice for replacing the runflats on next year's E90.

LWL, I too am also looking to see if there is a cheaper place to buy this same type of tire. T1R (2) 235/35/19, (2) 265/30/19

Price quotes I've got so far:

Tire & Wheel Motor Spt.
2250 S. Winchester
Campbell, CA 95008
(408) 379-0300
$1019.96 Mount & Balanced

Big-O Tires
1025 Water St.
Santa Cruz, CA 95062
(831) 429-9989
$1015.00 Mount & Balanced

Let me know what prices your getting around your area.

Jose

I have T1R's on my E90 and the previous generation T1S's on my S2K. Love Toyo tires. They stick man. I'm running -2 degrees camber on the rear of the E90 and -2.7 degrees camber on my S2K. I haven't pushed my E90 as much as my S but my S loves the T1S's!

The T1R came dead last or near to it in the "Car & Driver" tire shootout.

11th out of out of how many different tires on the market? 60, 70, 100?? And the shootout was aimed at auto x'ng if i'm not mistaken.

I did a ton of research and bought these tires. Check out the reviews at 1010tire.com, and talk to tire experts, they are considered some of the best.

I can't give a review just yet, haven't mounted them.

For a good deal, call Marcos, he is listed under the Vendor/Seller feedback section, look for my link.

I think the T1R were 9th out of 10. Tests vehicle was an 06 325i. Yeah, the whole thing was geared to auto-x. Why else would you want a true performance tire?

The goal is to have the stickiest tire in the dry & wet, the best traction in the corners, the best traction off the line and the lowest stopping distance.

Fact is that the T1R came near to last, tested on the same car that most of us drive.

They chose 10 of the top tires in various price categories so i think all the tires are considered "good."

Agreed. Upon further investigation, the T1R was 8 out of 11.
They're all good tires, we're just splitting hairs I guess.

its cool. i have no affinity for Toyo or any brand in particular, but i felt your post may have made him think the tires 'suck' or something. i know you didn't mean it that way, but it could have been construed that way.

heck, even the Ventus were rated very good (dry), and most people would think Hankook sucks. I think all the tires in that line up are considered 'good' Don't forget, there are a lot of cheapie brands out there, Cooper, Fuzion, General, etc... when you compare the 11 reviewed to all the tires out available in the market, I think they'd be considered "good."

But even cheapie tires can be good i guess, as Hankook has shown, and on my Acura, i replaced my 160 dollar a piece Michellin MX4's with Falken Ziex -512's after consumer reports rated them so highly, and i have been very pleased with Falkens stickiness and traction. But yeah, if you compared them to Goodyear F1's, they'd probably be nowhere close, but they are still "good."
