I'm very satisfied with the T1R's on my MINI.
This past weekend was the wettest since they have been on the car, and slowing down for corners was minimal, if at all required. Very confidence inspiring in the wet. Have had no problem with dry traction or ride comfort, highly recommended. These will be first choice for replacing the runflats on next year's E90. |

I have T1R's on my E90 and the previous generation T1S's on my S2K. Love Toyo tires. They stick man. I'm running -2 degrees camber on the rear of the E90 and -2.7 degrees camber on my S2K. I haven't pushed my E90 as much as my S but my S loves the T1S's!

11th out of out of how many different tires on the market? 60, 70, 100?? And the shootout was aimed at auto x'ng if i'm not mistaken.
I did a ton of research and bought these tires. Check out the reviews at 1010tire.com, and talk to tire experts, they are considered some of the best. I can't give a review just yet, haven't mounted them. For a good deal, call Marcos, he is listed under the Vendor/Seller feedback section, look for my link. Quote:

The goal is to have the stickiest tire in the dry & wet, the best traction in the corners, the best traction off the line and the lowest stopping distance. Fact is that the T1R came near to last, tested on the same car that most of us drive. |

They chose 10 of the top tires in various price categories so i think all the tires are considered "good."

its cool. i have no affinity for Toyo or any brand in particular, but i felt your post may have made him think the tires 'suck' or something. i know you didn't mean it that way, but it could have been construed that way.
heck, even the Ventus were rated very good (dry), and most people would think Hankook sucks. I think all the tires in that line up are considered 'good' Don't forget, there are a lot of cheapie brands out there, Cooper, Fuzion, General, etc... when you compare the 11 reviewed to all the tires out available in the market, I think they'd be considered "good." But even cheapie tires can be good i guess, as Hankook has shown, and on my Acura, i replaced my 160 dollar a piece Michellin MX4's with Falken Ziex -512's after consumer reports rated them so highly, and i have been very pleased with Falkens stickiness and traction. But yeah, if you compared them to Goodyear F1's, they'd probably be nowhere close, but they are still "good." Quote:

I've had my T1R's for about three weeks and after my rubbing issues, they ride smooth as glass and boy do they grip . One thing for sure tney are not as noisey as my old Nitto 555's
