I read in the lastest Automobile magazine that the E92 will have electric power steering (EPS) and plastic front fenders. Having heard so many complaints about EPS in the past, I wonder if BMW has finally got it right. It should help fuel consumption, but hopefully it isn't at the expese of the driving experience. Regarding plastic fenders, given the shorter length of the E92 it seems to make sense and might help with weight distribution (and cost).

So...what do people think of these new "features." Do you think they'll also be used on the 2007 E90?

The E92 is actually 3 inches longer than the E90.

As for plastic fenders, I'm all for it if it saves weight.

Yep, just looked it up. My error. But, as you said, it saves on weight and that's always a good thing.
