It is a weighting system that attempts to neutralize differences between cars to come up with driver results. Each SCCA Solo class has a PAX weight as a percentage of 100, D Stock is 0.812 for 2008 and minor changes are sometimes made annually. Here is the 2008 PAX.

Autocross sure is fun though, isn't it? Some of the guys in my region call the 135i a 'cheater car' because the PAX is low for D Stock. I should really be autocrossing my wife's Cooper S though.
