Alarm programing problem
So I took my 135 into the dealer to have it programed after I did the install and they said that they couldn't communicate with the alarm module. After double checking all the installation, they detirmined the module must be bad. I asked them if they had v29.02.00, they said they had the latest software and said they could communicate with the other modules in the car. I am currently trying to get to the bottom of the issue so any thoughts would be appreciated. I bought the module from Tischer who advertises on this site and I am trying to contact them about what they think.
The module appeared to be new in box, so I would be surprised if it really were a bad module. Thanks.

does your alarm light blink on your mirror? One way you can test it and I didn't even know about it until I did it by accident on saturday is open the windows, shut the door, and lock the car. Give it a few minutes, and then stick your hand into the car and the alarm should go off. My did and I was like woo wait a minute I didn't think it would work until it was programmed.

I now have the module sitting on my couch, and won't be able to reinstall for a little while otherwise I would, thanks for the heads up though I will try it when I put it back in. I also have a January production car if that would make a difference.

there's a know problem with programming the OEM alarms. BMW is working on a solution to be sent to dealers on that issue. As of last week BMW has not released the fix yet, ETA is still about a month away when i called the shop foreman to check on it....

I took my 135 in to get it reprogrammed about a month ago. They had it for 3 days and they could not get the car to accept new programming. They opened a PUMA case on it and were told by BMWNA that no dealers should attempt 1 series programming until further notice. I checked with the BMW Performance Center and they said the same thing. Hard to believe that AG would let such errors happen. I have heard that some cars are dead in the water at dealers - can't be programmed - can't start.

No, mine is still not programmed. The OEM alarm parts are in the car and I have the blinky light, but that is it. Also there is a suspicion that the programming they did try deleted my automatic parked car ventilation (since that is gone now).

Great...so they must have tried v30.xx.xx and it didn't work. I might as well cancel my appt. for next week.

How does the parked car operation work? Is that on all of the 1 series? Is that to blow the hot air out of the car? My boss's 550 I does it but I don't know if the 128 does it.

No Audible Confirmation when locking and unlocking...
When I had my car delivered to me I made sure the dealership add the factory alarm. I suppose it works as they mentioned, but they said they cannot get the car to have the BMW audible confirmation beeps when arming and disarming since they do not yet have a software available (progman) that can add that feature yet. Is this true?
Does anyone out there have the factory BMW alarm installed and not able to get the audible confirmations yet? Please let me know if there is a fix or an updated software that I can relay to my local dealership. Right now only the parking lights flash on and off when locking and unlocking. My 650 came with an alarm standard and has the audible confirmation and can be turned off via the iDrive. I checked on my 135 iDrive, but did not have that option. This was the first place I checked.

Have you checked to see if your alarm is actually working? That is what my car does without the alarm and with hardware installed the clown nose lights up too. I would roll your windows down, lock the car/arm alarm, then wait a couple minutes and stick your arm in the window and wave it at the motion sensor and see if it sets off the alarm.

Yeah I tested it out that way and the alarm does go off. Just no audible beeps when locking and unlocking.
