A 135i races in BMW Club Racing
Hi All -
This past weekend at Willow Springs, we had our 135i debut in BMW Club Racing in the H-Stock class. We think it may be the very first 135i to race in sanctioned race event.

Looking incredible. The KW street coilovers seems to be doing better than I would have imagined. That doesn't look like a lot of negative camber, what are you running?
Also, how did the car do? and did you get any driving impressions? Definitely spongeworthy picture too. |

One of our biggest concerns was of course, the car going into 'limp home' mode. Amazingly enough, the car lasted thru two 45 minute sprint races (our races are normally 30 minutes) and one of them in 85 deg. temps in the afternoon and the car never complained once. What didn't last was the tires - well more specifically the left front. With virtually no camber, turn 8 at Willow Springs was just eating up the outside edge of our left front. WSIR is notoriously tough on the left front anyway, but with no camber, that tire had no chance. So we were a good 3 seconds off the track record for our class (set by an e36 M3 ltw), but we feel like the car, when modified to the extent of the class rules definitely has more than that left in her.

That's excellent. I'm seriously considering replacing my M3 with a 135 although I would replace many parts immediately like the seats and suspension as I would track it extensively like i do with my M3. Does anyone make camber plates yet for the 135?

What times did you run on the sprints? I was drivng on WSIR yesterday and (as a beginner driver) i was running low 1m:50s. Temp was about 98F and I got my run flats pretty slimy in the afternoon. Also. What Tires are you running? I'm thinking about buying a set of Nitto NT01's and rims. I kept up and passed a bunch of M5's and M6's lol. The 135 just dominates.
