What about badging with "tii"

I know we all pretty much hate the "M1" badge that German kid slapped on his 135i, but how does everyone feel about the idea of self-badging a 135i as a "135tii" if your car has been loaded up with BMW Performance Catalog options?

Where would you get such a badge? Would you have to paint it white and put the black striping on it as well?

Any decent vinyl cutter can make those up for you. My friend who made up the 1Addicts decals mentioned it to me a while back, but I don't want that for my car, unless I was making a Tii replica of the Tokyo show car.

I think this way, if it didn't come from the dealer with the badge on it then do not add it.

Even though tii would be WAYYYY more acceptable then an M.

I agree. Its not a tii so why badge it as such. Whats with the obsession of puting badges on cars when its not what they are. I just dont get it at all.

I saw a Ford Focus the other day with a large SALEEN windshield sticker. That was pretty cool.

According to a CA, one of the main promotional purposes of the tii Tokyo concept car was to show off the performance parts for the upcoming 135i.

am i going to DO it... no

but i thought this thread was more of a "if you saw a tii badge on a 135i, would you want to vomit?" type thing.

When I see aftermarket "M" badges i just want to sledgehammer the cheap eBay merchandise off cuz it's just posering. I won't even buy an M keychain!

i guess cuz i can justify someone saying that this car is a direct descendant of the 2002tii, which BMW is marketing as. It's acceptable IMO.

if you have enough Tii tidbits on it, and also some weight save (removal of dead weight, stripping some sound deadening perhaps? if your hardcore enough). Then definitely do it. If the car wont live up to the Tii concept, dont badge it as such. That's my opinion if you were to badge it.

But for myself, i like stealth and making people guess. I'll most likely debadge my car completely and just go for a clean look.

I'd say it's ok. If you literally have every part from the concept.. why not?

Some if you guys are getting a little anal about this badging thing. I wouldn't stick an M1 on my 135i because it's not even close to an M1 but as for the tii thing...

And I'm having a great time with the look and feel of everything BMW has to offer for my ONE. Just have fun and quit getting too serious about all this!

Well said

Its all about how You feel about Your car. No one else matters (save for the other discussion forum thread "Question for you Married Guys")

'Call' has style because he's defined it in his way.

BMW expected the 1 to be the next enthusiasts car. We make that happen by applying our own personality to 3370 lbs of mechanical mojo.

Make it yours, badge it with respect to the past and fellow enthusiasts.

For me I'm going with mh on the back and nothing else..

@larryn what kind of vinyl cutter do you use? Are you happy with it?

Sorry for being off topic.

I'm in the market for a vinyl cutter and I sure could use some help. Where did you get started? Because there are a number to choose from. At the moment I don't want to shell out a lot of money so I was looking at desktop vinyl cutters. I've got tired of all the hype reviews that were on the net. And actually managed to find one that seems legit. On this web-site I've found a review that was critical. It actually showed the flaws of each machines. What do you think which one would be better.

Any help is appreciated

HAHA a 12 year necrobump.
I wonder how much vinyl cutter technology improved since then...
