Took it in for the break-in oil change

Took the car in and got the oil changed .. just a little under 1200 miles ... Now I'm ready to roll

What did the dealer charge you (if it was the dealer)?

Done at the dealership ..... $101 and some change ..:iono:

Maybe they give it extra love and care ... LOL ... I'll be doing my own changes from now on and leave them do the "scheduled changes".

That's not bad, Crowley. I added up my expenses for the materials and it was ~$58. I have an oil change shop that only charges me $15 labor if I bring the filter & oil. That is $73 total, so a little over $100 at the dealer is competitive I'd say.

When are you supposed to get this done? Benefits? Cons of not doing it?

I agree. I like doing my own changes when I can, but a full synthetic oil change for the GTO runs about $85. Another $15 for the dealer isn't so bad, especially considering the more expensive filter, and probably a little more than the 6 quarts my current car uses. :w00t:

If you guy's want an alternative to BMW's oil filter cartridge, WIX sells one for about $12.50 the part number is 57327. Also I believe they have a fuel filter part number NS but I'm not 100% sure on that one.
