ConnectedDrive on 2008 1er?

First I want to say hi and thank you for all the information on this forum. and now for my question.

does anyone have a clue if it will be possible to upgrade the nav on the 2008 1er to enable it to get POI from Google?

The 2009 gets this feature. I hate to not have it especially since my car is only now being built.

Apparently, an upgrade or retrofit won't be possible.
