Partial success: access to rear speakers -- HELP!
In the ongoing saga of my attempts to get a high level input amp hacked into the back of my 135i coupe (USA) with standard audio (BMW Professional):
Help from headlights, Nolz and others here got me this far. I have removed the 'airbag' tab and removed the right, rear panel through which the wires run. Here is my problem: There are lots of wires. Which ones are the rear speaker wires? In particular, which ones are the right rear speaker wires? I see a bajillion wires, some of which seem to end up in the TCU. Others I suspect must run to the trunk (boot) light, which I obviously do not want to disrupt. Does anyone know the speaker wire coloring for the 135i coupe (USA) standard audio system (6 speakers -- called 'bmw professional' in the US)? This is the very last piece of the puzzle! I am standing by with T-taps, amps and subs! Thank you very much in advance, Eddie |

Your post is rather confusing...! WHERE are you trying to pick up those speakers wires from..? The current amp or the head unit? BTW, there are no 6-speaker 135i in the US, they all have 10 speakers. |

Here is a great post from Bimmerfest that shows the speaker wire colors and their corrosponding inputs.
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=256559 It also shows where to access them in the car. From what i read the 3 series has the same audio systems as the 1 so hopefully it is in the same location. Let me know as i plan on doing the same upgrade when my car arrives in a few weeks. |
