Why I love this forum
Let me explain- bought the Mrs a q5 45 premium+, had a question and went to Audi World- a couple kind souls chimed in with helpful answers and then a bunch of curmudgeons chimed in on why we should not want our doors to not auto lock when driving. Rather then bringing value (or even entertainment) I was scolded for our choices.
Apparently, if your doors are not locked, you WILL be carjacked, it’s guaranteed! Thank you everyone here for making this forum about the product we bond over, not the choices we make. This forum truly is the real deal, because of its members… |

Me and my wife were watching some road rage and police chase videos. Suspect would run up to cars and hop on in. Me and the wife just thought to eachother, why the hell are their doors unlocked!? lol As far as the louder exhaust thread, head out the windows makes locked doors useless!

I counted zero other cars which were thoroughly totaled next to that person’s BMW. It’s amazing how the “black ice” only took out the car wearing high performance summer tires

If you want a laugh, look at the facebook X3 forums. So, so, so much bad advice (did you know that the "C" clips for stuff like the intake and charge pipe are one time use and are meant to break on removal? lol).

OMG... this! I had to leave them. I think I joined an X3/X4 group, and maybe one other too (but can't remember the name, maybe just an X4 group or something of the sort). It was just so, so bad. It wasn't just the advice, it was the people asking stuff too... like really, really basic, simple car-owning things. It began to scare the hell out of me.

I remember reading that post. It was the "mods and upgrades" group. 🤣

I’m cool with not mocking (publically) decisions like upbadging and stupid wing spoilers. But when someone’s decisions could potentially send them careening into my truck full of kids, I think leaving him slightly singed ain’t the worst thing. Quote:

I won't say I've been disappointed with this forum but I guess I was hoping for more. I'm a 20 plus year BMW owner but just entering the X3 universe with an X30i scheduled for production in April.
I'm used to the Tacomaworld forum for my Gen3, where there are literally hundreds of posts a day and while it isn't always welcoming if you don't search first, there is nothing you can do to your truck that you won't get help with there. There are a LOT of Tacoma's and people definitely mod them to an extreme at times but it's been super helpful to hang out there for everything from speaker upgrades to sound deadening, etc. I will try to do my part to add content here when my car arrives. Can't wait!!! |

I have to second the OP's comments, I was over on the X5 F15 side for several years and now recently headed over to the X3 forum(s). Lots of good advice, some trying to be comical and that's ok, not sure if I've come across a whole lot of RTFM people.
When had an Infiniti G37 coupe a few years back, that forum (MyG37.com) was great as well until used prices went down and teenagers started buying them. |

this new gen of G8x drivers is not like the old... they are younger, have less driving skills and an absolute ton have been wrecked causing insurance premiums on those cars to skyrocket... its become too much of an instagram car and the crowd from there followed it... ice or not, there are just an enormous amount of bad drivers in that camp... there was some guy that drove everywhere w dsc off, another in the snow w summer tires and another that floored his car and somehow ran into a building on an empty road lol... i would be scared to see what the G8x crowd would do in a much tail happier F80
