M wheel for 135i

Will the M sterring wheel be available as an after market product? i love the steering wheel, but hate the seats of the sport package so i didnt go for it. does anyone know if i will be able to purchase just the steering wheel?

They're in my 1er German accessory catalog I believe. The catalog is at work unfortunately and I don't have any idea of price.

BTW, you like the non-sport seats better? Or are you thinking aftermarket?

IMO the sport package is essential, and not just for the seats.

The steering wheel in the BMW accessory catalog I referenced is the one from the sport package. Looks like over $500 (part only). Part number is 32 30 7 839 114 (price in Euros is 376,00). See if carguymo can order it (and what the US price is).

If you hold on for a little while there are people that will put on aftermarket steering wheels - includng me if that one from the performace catelogue is available here- and they will probably sell their wheels of ebay or something.

I asked the parts department and he told me the air bag is different from the stock steering wheel to the M sport steering wheel...so have to order both 1200 + 500, that's crazy...does anyone know if this is true?

^^ Not at all.... I guess I phrased my question wrong... what are the main differences?? I am sure there are some! I can tell it looks like it's wrapped in a different sort of material...I have just never seen one in person...

It is slightly smaller, but has thicker grip. It's a very nice steering wheel, that plus the sport seats are a good reason for the Sport Package Option.

no way tisher is over 400, i saw it on there for 385, look under the e9x section!, you need the center plate though, and I can't believe you don't like the sport seats, I had non-sport and found a pair and bought them up quick to have them, good luck on the wheel, I just bought mine off vlkwagen on here, can't wait for it!

I checked out this site from Tischner BMW and I'm still a little confused if the M sport replacement wheel will fit the Original OEM non ZSP wheel will fit with out replacing the airbag. If you look below it says that the Non ZSP needs the air bag but the ZSP equipped cars don't need it. But it in the 1 series why would you even order this wheel with the ZSP, the wheels are the same. I wish they we're more specific about the retrofit on this wheel. If anyone has installed this wheel on a non ZSP 1 series please let me know. I'd really like this wheel but I don't want to pay the money for the airbag.

From Tischner's site:
For vehicles with a sports (ZSP) steering wheel:
  • E90/91/92/93 M Perf Steering Wheel (same for 1 series)
  • M Trim (32302283739, $89.60) - include a note in customer comments section that you'd like this added to your order.
  • Airbag can be transferred over from ZSP wheel
  • Multifunction switches can be transferred over from ZSP wheel
For vehicles without a sports (ZSP) steering wheel:
  • E90/91/92/93 M Perf Steering Wheel (same for 1 series)
  • M Trim (32302283739, $89.60) - include a note in the customer comments section that you'd like this added to your order
  • Sports Airbag
  • Multifunction switches (76.60) - include a note in the customer comments section that you'd like this added to your order. **must include VIN number

It's not true and once I get the wheel installed I will post pics for you so you can be sure, to be absolutely sure ahead of time, go to realoem.com and type in the last 7 of your VIN, go to "STEERING" and then look under both multifunction sports wheel and the M sports multifunction wheel- both have part #7 as the airbag and you will see that they are the same part number- 32306779826, but again if thats not enough just wait and I'll get pics up for everyone, though they will likely be just before and afters because I don't like stopping to take pics every 5 minutes especially when they stand between me and an M wheel

I have it installed from the dealer when I bought the car. It's smaller and took some getting used to. But cool. And it has the paddle shifters since apparently everyone in California wants an Automatic and there are zero Manual's available in Red.
