bubbles from tinting and painting work concerns

Hi dear,

Glad to be a XBimmer! Just got my new X3 xDrive30i last month. A few concerns from the new car I'm not sure if it's normal:

* There are a few tiny bubbles from the tinting. Initially I was told they would be gone after a few days but that seems not to be the case.

* The paintwork of Mineral White metallic seems not finished with a perfect ending on all doors. Not sure if it's common to all BMW paintwork but my current Kia Carnival seems much better (last pic).

* The wiper's speed seems weird. The 1st level (from not wipe - 0 to wipe -1) it's very slow, push up to the 2nd level it's too fast. Is there any way to adjust?

Sorry if I missed any articles with answer, please help me to paste the link if there is. Big thanks!

Is this car new?

Bubbles in tint… unless it’s bubbles in the glass that’s aftermarket tint.

Hard to tell what you’re referring to with the paint. It’s so dirty I can’t tell where you’re pointing out. There almost looks like rust in the corner of that one door.

On the intermittent setting, you can adjust the sensitivity/speed using that wheel in the stalk.

I had the same thoughts as bocabimmer, might be worth talking to the dealer and seeing what they are able to do. Usually those items are documented during delivery but those are issues if the car was brand new. Definitely speak with your CA.

Who did the tinting if it was aftermarket? Sloppy and should be redone.

The dirty paint pic appears to be cosmoline. I’ve had this on all my BMWs. I clean it off with goo gone or a more aggressive goo gone.

1. Have whoever tinted take a look and redo if necessary.

2. Take it back to dealer, this is definitely not supposed to happen on a new BMW.

3. Hard to diagnose from text, I always set it at auto so never have to worry about speed.

That's definitely cosmoline & dirt. Check your owner's manual for wiper functionality, explains everything. Take the vehicle back to whomever did the tint.

I have a 2018 X3 XDrive 30i with Idrive 6 and you can adjust the wiper settings with BimmerCode for the speed of the Auto position.
