Xenon Color Shift?

Anyone know if the colorshift time frame on the xenon is still 150-200hrs?

That depends on the bulb. If its the Philips 5k then yes, they will.

If they are the Osram/Philips 4300k, no. But the Philips 4300k will had more of a purple/blue tint over time...

No, I am not talking about the warm up after ignition. All xenon bulbs start out a tad yellow until they basically break-in. Then the 4100k Philips/Osram OEM HID D2S turn white.

----

Actually Kris the OEM bulbs are not 4300k like the kits, they are 4100k (4100 k Philips/Osram OEM HID D2S).

Here is an OEM DENSO ballast and 4100k OEM bulb kit I had.

You can see the bulbs brand new, then the color shift after 100+ hrs.

OEM Bulbs I got from BMW are infact 4300k, not 4100k as you've stated.

As I mentioned, some of the BMW's come with OEM 5k bulbs, 85122+ they are labelled as. These color shift after about 100hrs.

The picture you've shown is a D2R bulb, I dont think any of the new BMW's have D2R reflector based bulbs. They are all D2S

Philips/Osram doesn't make a 4300k bulb for the US market. 4100k is the only temp bulb legal in the US. That may explain your bulbs in Australia.

D2R are only for reflector housings, no BMW with projectors have ever used them. They us D2S which are for projector housing. The only difference between the bulbs is a coating on the D2R to reduce glare.

The bulbs I show are D2R with the coating removed, now it's a D2S.
