Hamann HM2 fitting?
Hey guys,
I'm concerned about my Hamann HM2's fitting on a 135i. The offset is +38 but i heard that the offset on the stock wheels are 18X7.5 ET47 front and 18X8.5 ET51 rear. My wheels are 18x8.5 all round with 235 all round. Can anyone recommend spacers or if they'd fit or not? |

Spacers would do the opposite of what you want, effectively lower the offset to say 28 with a 10mm spacer, and push the wheel even further out. I have seen a hatch fitted with 18X8 ET38 and they stuck out quite a bit at the front fender, and the owner claimed they rubbed pretty bad. I would say with 8.5 you'd be in seriously rubbing both front and rear. I would not recommend those wheels for this car. I am looking at 18X8.5 ET48 and expect them to be pretty flush.

I found a picture of an e87 1 series with Hamann HM2's on them, and looking at the wheels they look identical to mine. I think they only came in offset +37. I hope the picture will come up properly.

You're probably right that those are ET37 or 38 and indeed they will go on the car. Whether or not they fit is another question. Check this picture for example to consider what happens to the wheel on the 1er under load. If your wheel is sticking out of the fender, you'll have tremendous rubbing going on, and maybe paint chipping and panel damage.
