I haven't driven one but I've seen it and sat in it and I think it's one of the few new cars that looks better in photos than in person- the interior is really cold-
didn't like the driver position after I had everything adjusted.
Just my opinion...obviously others like the C30 enough to throw down hard cash.

The C30 is a really nice car IMO, but from a performance/technical standpoint, the cars are in two separate leagues. The engine in the 135i alone is enough to separate the two

The C30 ended up being an extreme disappointment, and the news that there's gonna be a 4 door C30 is pouring salt on an open wound. Volvo just brought out a new 3.2L inline 6 that works in both transverse and longitudinal installations, but instead of making the C30 into a hot hatch, creating a sporty image, and attracting yuppies to the brand...they decided to make a car for girls and metrosexuals. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the entire lineup has no exciting cars and this was a no brainer way to add excitement and attract new buyers, but Volvo just clean missed the boat a la General Motors. They should have followed Audis lead and transfomed the brand into a more sporty and upscale line. Ford wouldn't be trying to unload the Volvo brand if they had managed it correctly.

That pretty much covers it, doesn't it? The C30 reminds me of 40 year old women who dress like their teenage daughters. Their clothes write checks that their bodies can't cash.

Want a sporty FWD hatch? Buy a GTI or MCS.

I prefer the Mini over the new small Volvo. Even a VW GTI.
