Audi Surprise Debuts A3 Cab This Friday

A3 Cab Debut..

Surprise?...well not much of a surprise-
the debut of the A3 Cabriolet has been moved up to this Friday (Nov. 23rd).

This friday Audi will hold a press conference in Györ, Hungary which will see the unveiling of the new Audi A3 Cabriolet. No further details have been released yet but we are not expected any major surprises from another addition to the Audi line up. The styling of the front end looks very much like the current generation A3, but the rear end styling appears to be based on the A5.

Production had been rumoured to commence in Brussels, Belgium, but judging by the location of the unveiling, it looks likely it will be built at their Hungary production facility.

We had expected the A3 Cabrio to debut in Geneva so this premature unveiling comes somewhat as a surprise.

Final drawings released today. Looks good. Definitely not a muscle car, but it should suit the target audience.

And would you look at that Verified Endemic FLAW where the headlights meet the hood? I can't believe Audi hasn't fixed this! I smell a conspiracy! :mad:

It looks more like a Mini Cabrio competitor than a e83 competitor, becasue it doesn't have a trunk. Not bad looking though.

No, but they do make a bad ass S3 2-door hatch that the US doesn't get.

I like it. It has no chance at competing with the 1er in terms of performance, but will almost certainly provide just as much interior space (because of the front-wheel drive layout) and meet most buyer's expectations. Based on looks, the Audi easily beats the 1 Cabrio and is probably why I would rather have the A3 Cab over the 1er Cab.
