X3 tire options

I'm buying my wife a 2016 X3 which comes with 245/50 R18 tires in back and front.
Her old X3 had 255s which looked a lot better. I want to know how wide I can go for rear tires.
295 too much? What is optimal for look and handling?

We need to know what wheels you have. Most likely 295 will be too much. If you can fit 245. Lol. Have you seen the size difference?
