BSI (and BSI Plus) - Worth it?

I apologize if there are similar topics; I searched for them and I couldn’t find any.

What is your opinion on the Service Inclusive packages for a G80 M3? I plan to have the car for at least 5 years.

The options are:

- BSI 5 years/100,000km which is €3315 and includes:
  • Engine oil change plus replacement (for diesel and gasoline models)
  • Change of air conditioner microfilter
  • Brake fluid change
  • Oil, fuel, and air filter change (for diesel and gasoline models)
  • Changing spark plugs (for diesel and gasoline models)
  • Vehicle reviews plus other services specified in the maintenance book of your BMW
  • High voltage battery charging service up to 75%-80% (for 100% electric models)

- BSI Plus 5 years/100,000km which is €7684 and includes (in addition to the list above):
  • Changing of the front and rear brake pads
  • Changing of the front and rear brake discs
  • Replacing the clutch due to wear (for diesel and gasoline models)
  • Replacement of windshield wiper blades, when necessary.

Is any of the packages worth it? The Plus one looks like an insane amount of money to me…

What do each include? I'll bet the more expensive one has pads and rotors included which aren't cheap.

Well price out the brake job from the dealer and see they say, its definitely not cheap. And how many pads/rotor replacements does it include?

It really depends on how many miles you'll plan to put on the car in 5 years. You may never need brakes or a clutch (with your automatic, never).

I'd recommend that you save your money and purchase the services when needed at a specialist shop (not the dealer). I think it will be much less expensive.

A stock set of brakes/rotors lasts over 50K miles, so don’t depend on getting those replaced soon. Save your money.

I think replacing the rotors and pads is one of the easier jobs for the G8X. Brembo calipers are easy to work with. What scares the crap out of me is when you pop the hood every inch of space is taken. I assume a water pump or alternator replacement will take a while to replace.

This is crazy expensive for both options. An oil change is not more than $200 so factor that in for 5 years and thats 1k bucks. This is assuming you for some reason dont have the free maintenance with BMW for the first 36K miles.

Pads maybe 1K total for all 4.

Rotors about $1300 for EBC fronts, I have no idea about the rear but cant be far off.

Spark plugs $100 do it yourself it is not difficult.

Wiper blades, I am not even going to comment on this. LOL

Brake fluids, I have no idea for this car but it cannot be that high.

This should save you about 3k from the Plus package. Just a guess.
