XM test drive - throttle input delayed

Car doesn't pull away smoothly from a stop because there's throttle delay. This delay is there every time you come off and get back on the throttle while on the move causing lurches. Seems to handle decent.

Same experience with my test drive was very disappointed.

Curious if this behavior is also present in updated x5/x6 with electric motor integrated in the transmission for mild hybrid system. Unacceptable in a $160k car.

I have not experienced this. 1,500 miles so far. Also possible I didn't notice / DGAF if it's subtle.

That proved to be true for my experience. Also putting the transmission to S3 makes a big difference (in Hybrid mode). Yet to try launch control 😎

I do not notice any stop and go lag on my 24 X6 M60i with new S68 mild hybrid engine.

I would expect some delay in Comfort. Are any of these observation done in Sport/Sport+?

Better after break in, but the biggest difference is the driving mode, even in non hybrids it acts like that, my wife’s 2023 X7 M60 the same…. If I want that responsiveness I bump to S2, it’s not too crazy but gives you what you want..

I had a test-drive this past weekend at the M-Town Tour in Monrovia, California. Overall I enjoyed the ///XM, and I'm very stoked on the S68 (I have a G06 M60 on order). Though, the lag is very annoying and concerning. Starting in S1 and shifting after 5K rpm to S2 the car literally stalls momentarily. From S2 to S3 & up there's no lag at all, but that lag from S1 to S2 when trying to launch is noticeably an issue. Granted there was a little over 200mi on the odometer, so post-break in this could be a non-issue as some of you are saying.

Handling felt very light even in the sportiest mode, but I'm used to a GTS package tuned F80 with super heavy steering. The roll feel is intense and has an extreme ///M experience about it. Braking is absolutely impressive. But my number one takeaway is definitely the S68. It sounds great and really pushes the envelope. With the sound button on this thing is loud! With a little bit of crumble at the end of a throttle push. It feels like a true ///M car in tank form. Might not be some's cup-of-tea looks wise but once you hop in and feel it, there's no denying it's an absolute monster. Minus the pre-break in lag from S1 to S2 and the nimble handling this vehicle was an incredible experience for me!

My dealer has 19 XMs in stock across their two stores. My sales guy suckered me in for a test drive this weekend with promises of crazy discounts.

I absolutely hated the experience. I have no issues with the XM exterior. But the inside is just a mishmash of style - feels very busy and cluttered. The darker colored headliner gives the car a claustrophic feel. The rear sets and lack of adjustability is criminal.

The driving experience was fine; nothing to write home about. There were lags and jerkiness which I assumed I would sort over once I felt the true character of the car.

The unicorn deal ended up being $10K off and nothing to write home about.

FYI, 10k off isn't hard to come by. I got more off than that on my car last week.

These things are definitely stuck on the shelves.

As for the laggyness, it's definitely there. Ride quality is also harsher than my 2023 x7 m60i. But overall I'm enjoying the ride. The looks have kind of grown on me and while the rear seats lack adjustability, the additional leg room is a welcomed change.
