test driving 328i
Hello all, i just rented a 328i for the weekend. I will be driving up to Las Vegas to really get the feel of it before pulling the trigger. Its an e90, what do you guys suggest I do and test to really see the performance of the car. I just drove it a while and noticed how quickly and quietly it accelerates from 60 on..Also it was very quick in sports mode, just about took any car on the street. But i wouldnt constantly drive on sports mode especially on free ways because i like to cruise. Another thing i noticed was the manual mode. It was very quick and good to react but i dont know about the downshifting. What are you supposed to do? Brake then bring it down? Also its not a sports package and the seats are very uncomfortable!!!
Thanks |

if you just like crusing just stay on the D mode but if you want a little kick just shift it to DS. M1-M6 lets u drive manual shifting so if i were you il try it first before i fly on the highway. thats an awesome ride. enjoy it!

A 328 is a nice car, has a good torque, but the engine is nothing to write home about, now, when it comes to handling performance, I am wondering if there is a better car in this price point. It is perfect.

do everything you usually do while driving, plus do some hard braking, accelerating while around 30-60mph to see how it feels if you had to overtake, see how it is at highest speed you usually drive (stability, comfort, noise) and check how it handles on rutted roads if you get a chacne to see if you like how it 'tramlines' (they do).

I bet your 325 engine is better The 328's engine has been praised time and time again and probably will continue to be praised for it's smoothness. The handling is best in class and so is the performance. |

The OP has nothing to do with my quote. If you are agreeing with JNS, then you have no f*cking clue what you are talking about. I suggest reading up before making a statement and making yourself look like a fool.

If you're going to be a member of this forum, I think you have to at least TRY the 335i, because you don't want people to give you buyer's regrets. (The 328 vs. 335i forums seem to never die.) That way you know for yourself.

Better to keep your mouth shut then talk and remove all doubt. You know absolutely NOTHING BMW's. Already have. It is a monster. I mean a rocket.

I wasn't very sold on my 328 after the test drive, but after several months of ownership it has really grown on me. great combo of daily drive comfort and weekend driving fun. Also, try out a 335 and make darn sure you are ok with the power difference before buying the 328 |
