Question needle on fuel gauge acting funny?

here and there when i start my car i have noticed the needle on the fuel gauge will flicker and point to empty for a few seconds then shoot to how much fuel is really in the car. could this be a problem? has anyone had this happen? or something not to worry about?

That's so weird, mine has been doing that too, but my RPM does that also. It only does it for the first 5-10 seconds after starting my car when it's below -20 deg. celcius. I think something's frozen and takes a few seconds to properly function.

Needless to say, our cars are not meant for extreme cold starts

HPFP.

jk. Sounds just like an electronic glitch. I would get it replaced under warranty by dealer.

I also noticed this problem and, after having it brought to the dealer, found there to be a TSB related to the problem. The fuel gauge will show the incorrect fuel level causing the gauge itself to read incorrectly.

A simple "wiping out of the codes" brought everything back in line for me ......... this had been going on for me last Fall so "cold weather" didn't seem to be a factor in my case.

Just purchased a second hand E92 2008 model and my gauge is doing the same. My speedo also moves.

Any ideas how to fix this.

New to all this
