^^^ what nyalpine90 said.

I’ve had a very small chip or crack in my windshield at eye level but slightly off to the right for over 6 months now, had it professionally repaired but it’s still visible, it is what it is…ignore it.

~$10 permatex windshield crack repair off of amazon has been my go-to diy kit for small chips/cracks.

Check with your insurance company, sometimes professional repairs will not cost you or cause your rates to increase.

They won't make it completely disappear but getting it properly fixed will limit the chance of that turning into a crack and a more major problem.

I picked up a rock in March that left a blemish about the size of a nickel in the lower center of the windshield. We have glass coverage through our insurance who recommended Safelite. If I’m not satisfied with the repair I can get the windshield replaced. I opted for the Safelite repair (which I think is just a glue) in order to keep the cracks from spreading. Not usually in my field of view so, for now, I’m happy with it.

I got the tire and wheel insurance that just so happened to include windshield repairs and door dings.

Sure enough, got a windshield chip 2 weeks after picking up the car. Local place came out and fixed it at no charge. I think it would have been about $200* if I didn't have the insurnace.

Ultimately, they made the chip a little worse - but it won't spread. That's the key.

I believe State Farm dropped that benefit many years ago.
